A development programme in Baden-Württemberg

“Song – Movement – Speech” is a development programme for children in kindergartens in Baden-Württemberg, which, as an exception, we have also carried out in our primary school. Its aim is to support mainly children with language and/or mobility difficulties through music. Children from refugee families or whose families have experienced migration, too, are priority participants in the “Song – Movement – Speech” groups

In cooperation with local kindergartens and primary schools, “Badische Bergstraße“ Music School has been offering this programme continuously since 2016. This cooperation has made additional support focussed on music and comprising, among other contents, getting acquainted with Orff instruments available to a large number of children.

It is a great challenge for “Badische Bergstraße” Music School to provide a good selection of instruments at the various teaching venues. Some schools have now received a pre-Christmas treat. Thanks to the Thomann Foundation’s generous donation, four kindergartens can now enjoy three new bass chime bar sets each. The trial period has already started, and the unfamiliar sounds enhance the lessons and inspire great desire to try them out.

The sets have been given to the kindergartens in Weinheim, Hemsbach, Laudenbach and Lützelsachsen. Children, teachers and parents alike are grateful for these fantastic gifts and are looking forward to putting them to good use regularly. For organisational reasons the pictures show children from the Bürgerpark day care centre in Weinheim with its director Anette Roberson and Ms Klötzke-Demuth, the coordinator for elementary teaching at the music school. The new instruments were inaugurated with a song sung by everyone together. We thank you very much!
