Klimper Klang – Musik Inklusiv is a very recently established charity, consisting of a handful of young musicians who have joined together to achieve a common goal: providing inclusive and accessible music education and activities in Cologne, Germany. Inclusive means accessible to everyone. Be they young or old, experienced or inexperienced, with or without disabilities. We want to enable everyone to find their way to music.

Workshops in residential homes for people with disabilities followed. Once he realized the great demand for inclusive and accessible music activities, Niklas went and looked for help. With five other musicians and music educators, he founded the charity Klimper Klang – Musik Inklusiv in February 2019.

The team now works to bring music to areas where you normally cannot find it: to workplaces, residential homes and other facilities designed for people with disabilities. The hope is that people discover their musical abilities by making and being exposed to music. Klimper Kang visits such facilities with all its instruments; people can take advantage of its activities where they live. The main intention is to acquaint participants with the instruments and give them the opportunity to try them out for themselves. Everyone can discover their own potential and work out their own way of accessing music. A subsequent second stage is envisioned in which participants are to be offered individual and group instruction, and finally the opportunity to play in inclusive bands.

But first, Klimper Klang naturally requires quite a few instruments to be able to realize the activities they have developed in the first place. The HansThomann Foundation assumed the entire costs for the instruments, donating 1,500 euros’ worth of them. This has enabled Klimper Klang to take its projects on the road, and will hopefully contribute to many participants discovering their own passion for music.

The Klimper Klang charity thanks the Thomann Foundation from the bottom of our hearts! We will, of course, keep you up-to-date with how our project is getting on.
