The Thomann company reliably stands for tradition and deeds: We, the BEAT project from Kassel, are incredibly happy to have received a generous donation from the related Hans Thomann Foundation store so easily, reliably and, above all, quickly. And for the second time, too!

The BEAT project has been running in Kassel since the beginning of 2022, giving young people between the ages of 14 and 27 the opportunity to hone their musical interests and talent in free workshops. Six-month runs give many young talents the space to professionalize, network and finally present their mostly self-written songs to a large audience at #beatonstage, our major performance series. For many, participating in the project is an unforgettable experience, because most participants get the attention for their passion for the first time in their lives, which enables them to develop further. Last but not least, they perform on a big stage for the very first time!

In the summer of 2023, unfortunately, our premises in Kassel burned down. A great loss, because not only did we lose our usual home for the time of the renovation, but also some of our instruments and the storage facility for our equipment. In our distress, we turned to Thomann in the hope of being able to get some new basic equipment that is also easy to assemble and dismantle. Fortunately, with the help of city hall, new premises were found, but we have to store and reassemble our equipment every week. Only one day later, we received a friendly and affirmative reply: The music store was happy to donate microphones, suitable stands and a system with the necessary connections through the Hans Thomann Foundation! We loved it. You can really rely on Thomann.

Here are some pictures showing the joy of the young people, who could hardly believe the generous donation and perceived it as a great appreciation. One of our coaches, Tim, said enthusiastically: “The equipment is really, really good! I have an older version of it myself, it’s been around for many years and we’ve used it at gigs.” After the eager unpacking and the wide-eyed amazement, which you usually see at Christmas, the equipment was duly put to its first use: Emilia and Mia sang “Grenade” by Bruno Mars from the bottom of their hearts and all the others danced and celebrated accordingly.
