Music education projects at the Pilgerhaus Weinheim – a thank you to the Hans Thomann Foundation

The Pilgerhaus (pilgrims’ hostel) Weinheim is a Protestant institution for youth work and integration assistance. As the sponsor of the Peter Koch School, a special education and counselling centre with a focus on emotional and social development, the Pilgerhaus enables young people to receive a wide range of support services. Music education plays a central part in this.

Thanks to the Hans Thomann Foundation’s generous donation, the Pilgerhaus has been able to add a choice of music resources important for its work; this will now make a lasting contribution to the enrichment of the music projects. Among other things, the foundation provided two keyboards, a small rehearsal room system, microphones and an electric bass with amplifier – all valuable additions to the lessons.

With these new instruments and equipment, we can implement the music projects in the Pilgerhaus and the Peter Koch School in a targeted and even more effective way. Music has a transformative power that teaches young people not only musical skills, but also self-confidence and social skills.

We would like to thank the Hans Thomann Foundation for their valuable support. This support makes a significant contribution to providing young people with valuable experiences through music that promote not only their musical but also their social and emotional skills.
