“Rapp” is where the music lives! Music department of the Franz Rapp Community School in Oppenau

The Franz Rapp School in Oppenau is a primary and community school, with secondary school pupils attending four all-day school days per week. Our educational approach focuses on different forms of work and methods as well as the use of modern media.

The completion of a modern new building for the 2022/23 school year allows us to implement our school’s learning concept ideally. In addition to digitally equipped classrooms, learning studios are available for individual work. The immediate vicinity of the school features many sights and nature experience areas.

Franz Rapp School is a cooperative school in the Black Forest National Park. School life is also very much shaped by cooperation with extracurricular partners, as well as other clubs and educational partners.

The school’s music department has 2 great subject rooms with basic equipment, and the musical life of our school features various school choirs, ensembles and music clubs from years 1 to 10.

In future, we also hope to extend the music department by offering music as a major subject.

Thanks to a truly very generous donation from the Hans Thomann Foundation, we have now been able to add to our inventory by purchasing class sets of various percussion instruments such as boomwhackers, numerous drums and versatile percussion instruments. Furthermore, another donation enabled us to purchase even more instruments, in which the Hans Thomann Foundation’s competent advice was critical.

We can therefore now add to class music making, ensemble work and musical performances of all kinds with our new ukuleles, mini keyboards and cajons. This additionally enriches the musical work at our school and awakens enthusiasm and motivation to participate musically in some form in students, parents and teachers.

Thank you very much for this great support from the Hans Thomann Foundation. We look forward to continuing this absolutely uncomplicated and valuable cooperation.
